Karmine Corp Stuns G2 with 3-0 Sweep to Claim First LEC Title at Winter 2025 Finals

European League of Legends Scene Electrified by LEC Winter 2025 Grand Final

The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Winter 2025 reached its climactic conclusion on March 2nd in Berlin. Where fans witnessed a historic upset as Karmine Corp definitively defeated G2 Esports 3-0 to claim their first-ever LEC title.

This victory represents a remarkable trajectory for Karmine Corp. Who struggled through their initial LEC seasons in 2024 with consecutive 10th place finishes before improving to 4th in Summer 2024. Now, just one year later, they’ve ascended to the summit of European League of Legends, earning a coveted spot in the upcoming First Stand 2025 international tournament.

The grand final concluded what had been an intriguing tournament narrative between these teams. Marking their third encounter: Karmine initially defeated G2 in the group stage, G2 responded with a 3-1 victory in the upper bracket. But Karmine Corp delivered when it mattered most with their commanding grand final sweep.

Viewership

Viewership for the event peaked at 801,369 concurrent viewers, with community casters driving significant audience engagement. Leading this charge was Kamel “Kameto” Kebir, Karmine Corp’s co-owner, whose channel reached 233,351 viewers during the final—his best performance of 2025. Other prominent community casters Caedrel and Knekro also outperformed official tournament broadcasts.

The French audience showed particular enthusiasm, with 320,456 viewers from France tuning in to watch Karmine Corp’s triumph. This made LEC Winter 2025 the most-watched League of Legends tournament among French viewers. Only surpassed in overall French esports viewership by the Inoxtag Zero Build Invitational #3 and RLCS 2024 Major 1 EU Open Qualifier.

While LEC Winter 2025 ranks seventh historically among European league seasons, it stands as the second most popular regional League tournament in early 2025, behind only Korea’s LCK Cup 2025, which peaked at 1,907,634 viewers.

Fans can look forward to seeing Karmine Corp represent Europe at First Stand 2025, scheduled for March 10-16 in Seoul, South Korea, where top teams from major regions will compete for a million-dollar prize pool.
