The change in Benfica’s management structure includes the appointment of Nuno Custódio to a role within the club’s sports management. This position had been vacant since the departure of Rui Spear, the former general director, who left the club after a tenure of five and a half years.
It’s important to note that Nuno Custódio’s appointment is not a direct replacement for Rui Spear. In his new role, Nuno Custódio, the former vice-president for the financial area of AF Lisboa, will serve as a crucial link between the various sports modalities and Rui Costa’s management, specifically focusing on the financial and operational aspects.
Nuno Custódio has already assumed his responsibilities and conducted meetings with the heads of different sections to gain insight into the current status of each one.
