The last year was full of uncertainty

Without playing any official games this season, André Sousa continues to be unavailable for Mário Silva due to ongoing physical problems. This Saturday, the goalkeeper addressed this issue on his Instagram.

At 37 years old and after several months away from action, André Sousa recently underwent surgery for ‘two hernias in the abdominal area.’ He doesn’t conceal that the recovery process has been challenging, filled with ‘complicated and difficult moments to overcome.’

‘For any athlete, it’s not easy to live with the uncertainty of an injury that could impact their life. This past year has been defined by this uncertainty, and often, I’ve struggled to see the light at the end of the tunnel.’

‘Currently, at 37 years old, my main focus is on recovering physically and mentally, restoring my quality of life, and contributing to my team as much as possible,’ described the Portuguese international.
